LOCATION
Miltona is located in Douglas County in the West Central
area of Minnesota, fifteen miles north of Alexandria on
State Highway 29. Our community is 150 miles northwest of
the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, 125 miles southeast of Fargo
and 225 miles southwest of Duluth. State Highway 29 is one
mile to the west and Interstate Highway 94 is twenty miles
to the south.

TRANSPORTATION
The CP Line Railroad passes through town. The Alexandria
Municipal Airport is located 15 miles to the south. The
United Parcel Service makes daily stops in Miltona, at
Miltona Builders Supply. Rainbow Rider Bus Service links to
Alexandria and the Region.
GOVERNMENT
Miltona is organized under the mayor-council form of
government. The council meets on the second Wednesday of
each month, at 7 pm in the city offices. Permits are
required for any construction, remodeling or moving of
buildings into town. The city is also covered under a
zoning ordinance which regulates the type of construction
permitted in various areas of the town. The city is served
by a 24 member volunteer fire department funded through a
joint agreement of the City of Miltona, Miltona Township and
Spruce Hill Township. The fire department has obtained a
fire protection rating of 8, through the Insurance Services
Office rating system,. The community is also served through
a First Responder emergency medical team.
